🙄🐾 😁 Happy Tuesday Von Renner Elementary School Cougars! Last Friday Ms. Brittany Salazar, our new school counselor planned an activity during lunch time for our students. The activity was an extension of this months SEL focus- identifying feelings. She was able to do a classroom presentations at most classes discussing this topic prior to the activity. The spinning wheel had different emotions written on it, the students were able to spin the wheel and answer questions based on their grade level. Example questions were to show what facial expression matched that emotion or to tell her a time they felt that emotion. The children enjoyed spinning the wheel and showcasing their most creative emotional faces based on where the wheel landed and talking about them. Can’t wait to see what activity she’s got planned for next month! 😁🥺😤🥰

Our assemblies have moved to Monday morning at 8:15 am. We had our first one today. ☺️🐾
Our new planter has beautiful plants in it now. Thanks to John and Andrew our Beyond the Bell custodians. They have been very busy weeding to prepare the soil and planting the new plants. We greatly appreciate all of their hard work. This was all made possible with a collaboration between the garden committee and Beyond the Bell. We are so grateful to everyone who made this possible.
We had our third trimester AR part for those kids who met their goal. It was a glow in the dark dance party. Mr. Eddy came back to DJ it for us. The kids had a blast!
We wrapped up the Olympics today with our first and fourth grade events. The kids were so excited to participate and cheered each other on. 🐾
What a fun day at our 2nd & 3rd Grade Olympics! 🏅💛 So proud of all our students for showing teamwork, sportsmanship, and Cougar spirit all day long. So many smiles, laughs, and memories made today!
Yesterday we started our Von Renner Olympics with TK, Kinder, and 5th grades participating. It was wonderful to see so many families come out to watch the events. Everyone showed good sportsmanship. Today we have 2nd and 3rd grade participating. 🏅🏆
We have also finished our Second Grade Soccer Tournament. We have Team Mexico in 1st place, Team Los Tucanes del Norte in 2nd place, and Team Cougars in 3rd place. Way to go Second grade!
Our Third Grade Soccer Tournament has wrapped up. 1st place goes to Los Patos, 2nd place goes to The Aura Kids, 3rd place goes to The Ducks. Way to go 3rd grade!

Our 4th Graders finished their soccer tournament a week ago. All the teams had fun and had good sportsmanship. 1st place was Los Dominican Papis, 2nd place Bwaka, and 3rd place Los Patitos Juan. We are so proud of our 4th grade teams. 🐾🥳

Our 5th Grade Soccer Tournament has concluded. Brazil took 1st Place, Ninja Turtles took 2nd Place, and Los Mexicanos took 3rd Place. All of our teams showed good sportsmanship and had a good time playing.
