Mr. Aguilar has a Connect 4 Tournament going on. The kids were able to sign up for it. They play during their recesses.




🎉🐾🎉 Happy Monday Von Renner Elementary School Cougars!!! Today’s assembly was an exciting one as the Jog-a-Thon winners were announced. We want to share the great news, thanks to your unwavering support we made $18,150.78, so we almost met our goal of $20,000 and we can’t thank you enough! 🥰 We are extremely grateful for your donations, participation and encouragement in this fundraiser. As you know, all profits go to the classrooms to support fun enrichment activities for your Cougar. Limo rides will be November 5th through 7th. If your child earned a limo ride they will be bringing home information and permission slips later this week. 🚙📣🐾






Today we were buzzing at VR! Our 5 contestants moving on to the district’s spelling be are Janessa, Yurely, Camila, Jackson, and Roberto 🐝



Our students had a Fire Prevention assembly last Friday. The kids got to see just how fast the firefighters have to put on their fire fighting clothes and why. They were able to meet Sparky and take a class photo with him. Then they were able to have a guided tour of the fire truck and what is on it. They had lots of good questions for the fire fighters about their equipment.










Every Friday Von Renner's Kindness Squad welcomes our students and staff. It's a great way to start the day.


Von Renner families attended the family engagement afternoon, where they learned ways to support their children with literacy, oral language development as well as with social emotional learning.




Sra. Zarate's class chose an ice cream party for being one of September's Attendance Winners.

Mrs. Zehners Class is learning to measure objects using centimeters and meters during math.





Today we got to have the Mathematical Mystery Tour Assembly at Von Renner. It was part math part magic. It had lots of kid participation. Everyone had a good time.

Handball Tournament Winners for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade.

These students were picked for a prize. They have been following the school rules: 1. Be Responsible 2. Be Respectful 3. Be Safe 4. Always Show Kindness. Way to go Cougars! 🐾😊


Mrs. Sunde and Mr. Stokes started their Buddies today. The big buddies gave a summary of what they’ve already read in their books, then they read to their little buddies. When the big buddies finished reading the little buddies read their guided reading books to their big buddies. The kids had so much fun!










Mrs. Manriquez's class had the highest attendance for August and earned a slime party with Mrs. Plascencia, Mr. Cope, and Mr. Aguilar.






Mrs. Manriquez's students are learning about arrays and the distributive property with Play-dough.






Mrs. Henriquez's students were learning about structures in science and made paper models to fly to test the structures of their airplanes.



🚨Our dedicated yard duties have been picking up more and more clothing and lunch items every day. If you see an item that belongs to your child please stop by after school to pick it up. The weather is changing fast and our Von Renner Elementary School Cougars will be needing their lost/misplaced/forgotten items soon. We’d love to see them all go home soon before the rain starts, thank you! 🐾

Von Renner will be having its first ever Hand Ball Tournament. The pictured students came up with the idea and Mr. Aguilar helped them put it together. It will be 1 on 1 games. Sign ups are on 9/16 and 9/17 at recess and lunch. The tournament will begin this Friday 9//19 and will continue next week.

These students have been caught following the school rules and earned a prize. They were safe, respectful, responsible, and always showed kindness. Way to go Cougars! 🐾
