October 25th is Unity Day, a national campaign to prevent bullying. At VR, we are encouraging all students and staff to wear orange on this day. I included a link if anyone is interested in purchasing the official t-shirt for $12. This is not sponsored through the school, but I thought I'd forward the national campaign's shirt link.

Attention All Parents! We will be making a kindness rock garden inspired by the book "Only One You" and we are asking that every student bring a rock to school to paint. The best rocks to paint are smooth and 4-5 inches wide. If you can send more than one, that would be great in case a student doesn't have one. We will be collecting rocks this week and painting them the following week. Thanks for helping us with this school-wide art project and kindness campaign.

Our 8th annual Dig Pink event is coming October 4th. The event promotes breast cancer awareness through the sport of volleyball. Last year NCLUSD was #1 in the state of California for their donation to the Sideout Foundation. Help make this year’s event even bigger by purchasing a new 2017 Dig Pink T-shirt by 9/15 and/or purchasing a linguisa ticket from any district volleyball player. Please contact Angie Mackovich-Reyes at Yolo or Vicki Felber at OHS for more information.
Parents, Be sure to have after school plans worked out with your child before school. The options are: 1. Bus 2. ASP 3. Pick up 4. Walk Students Will Not Be Allowed to stay in the office to wait for Yolo and OHS siblings! You either need to pick them up or have them walk to meet siblings somewhere. Our office is simply too small and the office staff cannot supervise students until 3:15. Thanks for your cooperation! This will be enforced beginning Monday to give you time to make alternate arrangements.
